Determined to become a top-tier medical optometrist, Dr. Moderhack chose to pursue a residency at Eye Center of Texas, a high-volume, multi-location ophthalmology clinic specializing in disease management and surgery. During his residency, he treated over 4,000 patients in one year, working alongside some of the nation’s most accomplished optometrists and ophthalmologists.
After completing his residency, Dr. Moderhack accepted an associate position at Texas State Optical in Baytown, Texas, where he has practiced full-scope primary care optometry for over ten years. During his time at Miami University, he also began training as an amateur boxer and went 2-0 in sanctioned bouts. Today, Dr. Moderhack continues to train in kickboxing and has expanded his interests to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, earning his blue belt in the summer of 2022.
